Clarion has announced that its new Next Gate in car infotainment device is available to purchase for $269.99. For the price, you get a seven-inch touchscreen device that connects directly to the iPhone allowing you to control specific apps on your phone using the larger screen. The device has integrated Bluetooth as well.
That integrated Bluetooth allows the Next Gate to support hands-free calls and you can use the touchscreen for navigating compatible apps. The device has the ability to playback music and has an integrated microphone with an external microphone option. It also features a microSD card slot.
Out of the device comes from the 12 V power adapter in your car and the display is compatible with the iPhone 4S and the iPhone 4. The cable for connecting to your iPhone is included. Clarion promises more compatible apps are on their way.
