Cat has announced its latest rugged smartphone, the Cat S60 and this new model comes with a thermal camera.
The Cat S60 features a 4.7 inch display with a HD resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels, the device is powered by an octa core Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 processor and it come with 3GB of RAM.
“We are delighted to work on the latest Cat phone with Bullitt Group, to integrate our thermal camera into their proven, industrialized smartphone to create a truly innovative and groundbreaking mobile product,” said Andy Teich, President and CEO of FLIR. “The CAT S60 presents mobile users around the world with new capabilities – a ‘sixth sense’ experience that only thermal imaging can offer.”
There is also 32GB of built in storage, a 3800 mAh battery and a strengthened die cast frame which makes the device from proof to 1.8m it conforms to the MIL 810G specifications, the device is also designed to be waterproof up to 5 meters, it also comes with Android Marshmallow.
Cameras include a 5 megapixel front camera and a 13 megapixel rear camera with a Dual flash, it also has an embedded thermal camera from FLIR and it can take thermal images at a distance of between 50 and 100 feet.
