Treyarch has this week released a new trailer for its latest and final map pack DLC for Call of Duty Black Ops 2 Apocalypse, which adds five new maps to the already existing offering. This highly anticipated DLC is set to bring a fresh wave of excitement and challenges to the game, ensuring that players have plenty to explore and master.
The Call of Duty Black Ops 2 Apocalypse map pack DLC will be arriving on Xbox Live on August 27th and is the fourth and final DLC Map Pack from Treyarch. This release marks the culmination of a series of expansions that have kept the game vibrant and engaging for its dedicated player base.
New Multiplayer Maps
The new Call of Duty Black Ops 2 Apocalypse introduces four Multiplayer maps: Pod, Frost, Takeoff, and Dig. Each of these maps offers unique environments and strategic opportunities, ensuring that players will need to adapt their tactics to succeed.
– Pod: Set in a failed utopian community from the 1970s, Pod features a series of dilapidated residential pods that provide a maze-like environment. Players will need to navigate tight corridors and open spaces, making for intense close-quarters combat.
– Frost: This map takes place in a snow-covered European city, divided by a frozen canal. The icy terrain and bridges create opportunities for ambushes and long-range engagements, adding a layer of complexity to the gameplay.
– Takeoff: A reimagining of the classic Black Ops map “Stadium,” Takeoff is set on a remote launch site in the middle of the ocean. The map’s verticality and open spaces make it ideal for both snipers and run-and-gun players.
– Dig: Inspired by the fan-favorite map “Courtyard” from World at War, Dig is set in an archaeological dig site in Afghanistan. The map’s symmetrical layout and multiple pathways make it a versatile battleground for various playstyles.
Innovative Zombies Experience
In addition to the new multiplayer maps, the Apocalypse DLC also includes the most imaginative Zombies experience to date, according to Treyarch. This new Zombies map, titled “Origins,” is set in a Dieselpunk-themed First World War environment. Players will face off against hordes of the undead while navigating trenches, bunkers, and a war-torn landscape.
One of the standout features of the Origins map is the inclusion of a 1000ft mechanical robot, which adds a new layer of challenge and excitement. This colossal machine roams the battlefield, creating dynamic obstacles and opportunities for players to exploit. The map also introduces new weapons, power-ups, and Easter eggs, ensuring that even veteran Zombies players will find something new to enjoy.
