Students at BYU have created their own batman style grappling hook that actually works, and the device was created taking its inspiration from the Batman Dark Knight movies.
The students have created the grappling hook gun for an Air Force contest, and the device can shoot a grappling hook up to 90 feet away, and then automatically pull the person up, have a look at the video of it in action below.
The students are creating an anchoring device that shoots from a firearm and pulls a person vertically in the air as much as 90 feet, just like the Caped Crusader is known to do from time to time.
The project is part of the annual BYU Engineering Capstone class and will be presented to the Air Force Research Lab in a competition against 17 other universities the three service academies this week.
You can find out more information on how this was created over at BYU.
