Motorola recently launched their new Droid Turbo smartphone on Verizon Wireless in the U.S. The handset was available in a range of colors and in two finishes, Kevlar Fiber and Ballistic Nylon, although the Ballistic Nylon version was only available in black.
Now Best Buy has listed a blue version of the Motorola Droid Turbo with the Ballistic Nylon finish. Although you can’t buy it just yet, the device is listed as coming soon on the Best Buy website.
Display and Performance
The Droid Turbo comes with a 5.2 inch Quad HD display that has a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels, offering a stunning visual experience with sharp and vibrant colors. This high-resolution display makes it ideal for watching videos, playing games, and browsing the web with crystal-clear clarity.
Under the hood, the handset is powered by a quad-core 2.7GHz Snapdragon 805 processor. This powerful processor ensures that the device runs smoothly, even when handling demanding applications and multitasking. Whether you’re gaming, streaming, or using productivity apps, the Droid Turbo is designed to deliver a seamless performance.
Memory and Storage
Other specifications in the handset include 3GB of RAM, which provides ample memory for running multiple apps simultaneously without any lag. The device also offers a choice of either 32GB or 64GB of built-in storage, giving users plenty of space to store their photos, videos, apps, and other data. Unfortunately, the Droid Turbo does not come with a microSD card slot, so users will need to choose their storage option wisely.
Camera Capabilities
The handset comes with front and rear-facing cameras. The front camera on the device is a 2-megapixel camera, which is suitable for video calls and selfies. While it may not be the highest resolution front camera on the market, it gets the job done for everyday use.
The rear camera is a standout feature, boasting a 21-megapixel sensor capable of recording 4K video. This high-resolution camera allows users to capture detailed and vibrant photos and videos. The camera also includes features such as dual-LED flash, autofocus, and HDR, enhancing the overall photography experience.
Operating System and Connectivity
The device comes with Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box, which was the latest version of Android at the time of its release. While it may not have the newest features available in later versions of Android, KitKat still offers a smooth and user-friendly experience with access to a wide range of apps and services through the Google Play Store.
In terms of connectivity, the Droid Turbo is well-equipped with WiFi, NFC, Bluetooth 4.0, and 4G LTE. These connectivity options ensure that users can stay connected to the internet, share files, and use wireless accessories with ease. The inclusion of NFC also allows for convenient features such as mobile payments and quick pairing with compatible devices.
Battery Life and Additional Features
One of the key selling points of the Droid Turbo is its impressive battery life. The device is equipped with a 3,900mAh battery, which Motorola claims can provide up to 48 hours of mixed usage on a single charge. Additionally, the handset supports Motorola’s Turbo Charging technology, which can deliver up to 8 hours of battery life with just a 15-minute charge.
The Droid Turbo also includes other notable features such as water-repellent nano-coating, which provides some protection against accidental spills and splashes. The build quality of the device is robust, with the Ballistic Nylon finish offering a unique and durable texture that sets it apart from other smartphones on the market.
The Motorola Droid Turbo is a powerful and feature-rich smartphone that offers a high-resolution display, robust performance, and impressive camera capabilities. With the addition of the blue Ballistic Nylon version, users now have more options to choose from when selecting their device. Keep an eye on the Best Buy website for the availability of this new color variant.
