We first saw the BlackBerry Slider smartphone at Mobile World Congress back in March, although when the device was teased we did not have any specifications on it.
The BlackBerry Slider is apparently called the BlackBerry Venice and now we have some specifications on BlackBerry’s latest smartphone.
The new BlackBerry Slider smartphone will come with a 5.4 inch display with a Quad HD resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels, the device will also feature a slide out QWERTY keyboard.
The device is said to be powered by a six core 1.8GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor, there had been rumors that it may come with an octa core Snapdragon 810, BlackBerry has obviously decided to go for the Snapdragon 808, possibly because of reported overheating issues with the 810.
The new BlackBerry Slider will come with 3GB of RAM and will feature front and rear facing cameras, the front camera is said to be a5 megapixel version for Selfies and the rear camera an 18 megapixel camera with a range of advanced features.
The device will probably come with BlackBerry OS, although with the recent rumors about a new BlackBerry Android device the company could launch an Android version of the handset. It is possible that BlackBerry could launch two versions of the device, one with Android and one with BlackBerry OS. The handset is rumored to be released by November 2015, as soon as we get some more details on the device, we will let you guys know.
