Barnes & Noble’s Nook Simple Touch digital reader has proven to be reasonably popular. Part of the reason for the eReader popularity comes from the fact that at a bargain price of $99 when it launched. Shoppers looking for a nice digital reader on a budget will be glad to hear that Barnes & Noble has announced a new price cut effective right now just in time for holiday shopping.
The Nook Simple Touch is now available for $79, making it $20 cheaper than it was this time last week. This tablet has also proven to be hackable. We’ve seen it running video games like Sonic the Hedgehog in the past.
The digital reader has a six-inch screen and has a screen that’s optimized for reading in bright light. The only downside to this digital reader and some the others on the market is that they lack of backlight. That means you have to have some light the room to be able to read books on the Nook Simple Touch.
