A new pocket sized smartphone breathalyzer has been launched today by BACtrack called the BACtrack Vio which is priced at just $50 and has been designed to support both Android and iOS devices.
BACtrack’s small smartphone breathalyzer, offers a host of app-enabled features and is equipped with ZeroLine technology that estimates how long it will take your Blood Alcohol Content to return to 0.00% based on your last test result.
The BACtrack Vio weighs just 2 ounces and is powered by 1 x AAA battery, connecting to your smartphone via Bluetooth and providing results in just 15 seconds. Its creators explain a little more :
“Through proprietary MicroCheck Sensor technology, BACtrack Vio offers users a high level of accuracy and reliability. Using a semiconductor sensor as a base, the MicroCheck sensors go through a patented burn-in process that equalizes the response, resulting in a higher level of performance, when compared to standard semiconductor sensors.
Vio was also designed with an innovative flip-up mouthpiece to collect a high quality breath sample, an essential component for reliable results; a user’s breath goes into the breathalyzer and ambient air, fumes, and other airborne gases are kept out. The folding mouthpiece pulls out during testing and slides back down during storage.”
