What’s New in Android Marshmallow
Android Marshmallow brings a host of new features and improvements to the Galaxy S6 Active. One of the most notable additions is the Doze mode, which significantly improves battery life by putting the device into a deep sleep state when it is not in use. This can be particularly beneficial for users who often find themselves away from a charger for extended periods.
Another key feature is the enhanced app permissions system. With Marshmallow, users have more control over the permissions that apps request. Instead of granting all permissions at once during installation, users can now approve or deny individual permissions as needed. This provides greater security and privacy.
The update also includes Google Now on Tap, a feature that allows users to get contextual information by holding down the home button. For example, if you’re reading an article about a movie, Google Now on Tap can provide information about the cast, reviews, and even showtimes.
Additionally, the update brings improvements to the fingerprint sensor, making it faster and more accurate. This can enhance the overall user experience, especially for those who rely on their fingerprint for unlocking the device and authorizing payments.
Performance and Stability Improvements
Beyond new features, the Marshmallow update also includes various performance and stability improvements. Users can expect a smoother and more responsive experience, with fewer crashes and bugs. The update also includes the latest security patches, ensuring that your device is protected against the latest threats.
For those who use their Galaxy S6 Active in rugged environments, these improvements can be particularly valuable. The device is designed to withstand tough conditions, and the update ensures that it continues to perform reliably even in challenging situations.
Overall, the Android Marshmallow update for the Galaxy S6 Active on AT&T brings a wealth of new features and improvements that enhance the user experience. From better battery life and enhanced security to new functionalities like Google Now on Tap, this update is a significant upgrade for the device.
