However, Asetek has unveiled a demonstration of a new liquid-cooled system they have fitted to an Alienware M18x Prototype. With initial tests indicating that the performance of the laptop increases around 18-23 percent, this innovation marks a significant leap in laptop cooling technology.
How Liquid Cooling Works
The Asetek system combines both the cooling for the GPU and CPU together using a cold plate system, providing the highest cooling performance available from the system. This method involves circulating a liquid coolant through a series of tubes and cold plates that absorb heat from the components. The heated liquid is then pumped to a radiator, where it is cooled by fans before being recirculated.
This process is highly efficient compared to traditional air cooling methods, which rely on fans to blow air over heat sinks attached to the components. Liquid cooling can dissipate heat more effectively, allowing for higher performance and overclocking capabilities without the risk of overheating.
