Archos has announced two new smartphones ahead of MWC, the Archos Diamond 2 Plus and the Diamond 2 Note.
Archos Diamond 2 Plus
First up is the Archos Diamond 2 Plus, the handset comes with a 5.5 inch Full HD display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. This screen size and resolution combination ensures a crisp and clear viewing experience, making it ideal for watching videos, browsing the web, and playing games.
Processing is provided by a MediaTek MT6755 processor, which is known for its efficiency and performance in mid-range devices. The device also comes with 4GB of RAM, which should be more than sufficient for multitasking and running demanding applications smoothly. Additionally, the Diamond 2 Plus offers 64GB of internal storage, providing ample space for apps, photos, and media files. For users who need even more storage, the device supports expandable storage via a microSD card slot.
Other specifications include an 8 megapixel front camera, perfect for selfies and video calls, and a 20.7 megapixel rear camera, which is capable of capturing high-quality photos and videos. The rear camera also features advanced settings and modes, such as HDR and panorama, to enhance your photography experience. The device is equipped with a USB Type-C port, which allows for faster charging and data transfer, and a fingerprint sensor for added security and convenience.
Archos Diamond 2 Note
Next up is the Archos Diamond 2 Note, this handset comes with a 6 inch QHD display with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels. The higher resolution and larger screen size make it an excellent choice for users who prioritize media consumption and productivity on their smartphones. The QHD display ensures that text and images are incredibly sharp and detailed.
The handset is powered by an octa-core Helio X10 processor, which is designed to handle intensive tasks and provide a smooth user experience. It has 3GB of RAM, which, while slightly less than the Diamond 2 Plus, is still sufficient for most users’ needs. The device also features an 8 megapixel front camera for high-quality selfies and video chats, and a 16 megapixel rear camera that can capture stunning photos and videos. The rear camera includes features such as phase detection autofocus and dual-LED flash to improve photo quality in various lighting conditions.
Both handsets come with Android 6.0 Marshmallow, which brings a host of new features and improvements over previous versions of the operating system. Some of the key features of Android 6.0 include Google Now on Tap, which provides contextual information based on the content on your screen, and Doze mode, which helps to extend battery life by putting the device into a deep sleep state when not in use. Additionally, Android 6.0 offers improved app permissions, allowing users to have more control over the data and features that apps can access.
We will have more details on pricing and release dates at MWC next week. These new smartphones from Archos are expected to be competitively priced, making them attractive options for consumers looking for feature-rich devices without breaking the bank. Stay tuned for more updates and hands-on impressions from MWC.
