Over the last few days there have been rumors that Apple are working on a cheaper version of their iPhone, although they already offer cheaper iPhones than the iPhone 5 in the form of the previous years iPhone 4S and iPhone 4.
No according to Apple’s Phil Schiller, the company is not working on a cheaper version of the iPhone and has no plans to do so in the future, have a look a the statement he have to the Shanghai Evening News below.
“Despite the popularity of cheap smartphones,” he said, “this will never be the future of Apple’s products.” “Every product that Apple creates, we consider using only the best technology available,” Schiller claimed.
As Apple already offers a couple of cheaper versions of the iPhone, in the form of previous years models, there really isn’t any reason for them to make a cheaper version of the iPhone, as their current strategy has worked well for them.
As well as selling a lot of the new iPhone 5, Apple is also selling large numbers of the iPhone 4S and the iPhone 4, these devices are being bought by customers who are looking for a cheaper iPhone.
