We recently heard that a possible date for Apple’s iPhone 5 and new iPod event would be the 4th of October. The news originally came from the guys over at All Things D, and now they are reporting that Apple will hold this year’s iPhone 5 event at the Apple Campus.
Apple has previously held its iPhone and iPad events in San Francisco, but it looks like this year’s event could be different and will be held at the Apple Campus.
Tim Cook to Lead the Event
Apple’s new CEO Tim Cook is expected to lead the iPhone 5 event, which is reported to take place on Tuesday, the 4th of October. This will be one of Tim Cook’s first major public appearances since taking over from Steve Jobs, and it will be interesting to see how he handles the spotlight. We are expecting to see the new iPhone 5, and possibly a cheaper iPhone 4, called the iPhone 4S, as well as the new iPod Touch.
The iPhone 5 is rumored to feature a larger screen, a faster processor, and an improved camera. There has also been speculation about new features such as NFC (Near Field Communication) for mobile payments and a redesigned body. The iPhone 4S, on the other hand, is expected to be a more budget-friendly option, retaining much of the iPhone 4’s design but with some internal upgrades.
What to Expect from the New iPod Touch
In addition to the new iPhones, Apple is also expected to unveil a new iPod Touch. The new iPod Touch is rumored to have many of the same features as the iPhone 5, including the larger screen and faster processor. This would make it a very attractive option for those who want the iPhone experience without the phone functionality.
The iPod Touch has always been a popular device for music lovers, gamers, and anyone who wants a portable media player. With the new upgrades, it could become even more popular. There are also rumors that Apple might introduce new colors for the iPod Touch, similar to what they have done with the iPod Nano in the past.
As soon as we get some confirmation that the 4th of October is the actual official date from Apple, we will let you guys know. Have a look at our iPhone 4S review to see what we thought of Apple’s latest smartphone, plus iOS 5 and their new virtual voice-activated assistant Siri.
Siri is expected to be a major feature of the new iPhone 5, with improvements in voice recognition and new capabilities. This could make the iPhone 5 not just a smartphone, but a personal assistant that can help you with a wide range of tasks.
