When the Apple Watch was announced last month, Apple said that the device would launch in Early 2015, the company did not give any specific dates on when the device would be available.
Now it would appear that we may have some more details on the launch date of the new Apple Watch, according to a recent report, Apple will commence mass production of their new smartwatch in January.
This would mean that the Apple Watch will launch some time in the first quarter of 2015, and as production is rumored to start in January, then we would expect Apple to start selling the watch some time in February or March.
The report also says that Apple are using just one supplier for their smartwatch, Quanta will apparently the the sole manufacturer of the new Apple Watch.
Apple and Quanta have apparently signed a deal which prohibits Quanta from making smart watches for any other company, and the company is rumored to have already started recruiting for the Apple Watch production, and will apparently increase their workforce to around 40,000 staff.
If Quanta does start production of the new Apple Watch in January, then we suspect Apple will start selling the device some time in March.
There will be three models of the Apple Watch, and entry level ‘Sport’ model which will retail for $349, a stainless steel model with sapphire glass, and a solid gold ‘Watch Edition’ version which may retail for as much as $5,000.
As soon as we get some more details on exactly when Apple intends to launch their new smartwatch, and also some confirmation on the pricing of the three models, we will let you guys know.
