Apple’s official stance on the launch of the Apple Watch is that it will be available in early 2015, we previously heard that the device could launch in the spring of next year.
We had previously heard rumors that the Apple Watch would launch some time in quarter one of 2015, so this would be between January and March, although the recent news of a spring launch for the device would mean that it would be some time after the 20th of March, as this is when spring starts in the U.S.
According to a recent report, Apple’s suppliers are gearing up production for components for the new Apple Watch, specifically for the processor that will be used in the device, which is a system-in-package (SiP) chip.
We also get some information on how many devices Apple have planned to make, according to the report, Apple is expecting to ship some 30 to 40 million units of their Apple Watch.
There will be three versions of the Apple Watch at launch, a Sport model which is expected to retail for $349, a stainless steel model which is expected to retail for around $500 and a high end Apple Watch Edition which will feature a gold casing, this could retail for as much as $5,000.
