As well as releasing the new iOS 9.3 Beta 3, Apple also released tvOS 9.2 Beta 3 which comes with a range of new features over the current version of the Apple TV software.
The Apple tvOS 9.2 Beta 3 brings a range of new features to the Apple TV, this includes App Store search for Siri and also a new dictation feature.
New Features in tvOS 9.2 Beta 3
One of the most exciting additions in tvOS 9.2 Beta 3 is the enhanced Siri functionality. With this update, users can now search the App Store using Siri, making it easier than ever to find new apps and games. This feature is particularly useful for those who prefer voice commands over traditional remote navigation. For example, you can simply say, “Find cooking apps,” and Siri will display a list of relevant applications available for download.
Another significant feature is the new dictation capability. This allows users to input text using their voice, which can be particularly handy when entering usernames, passwords, or search queries. This feature is expected to improve the overall user experience by making text input faster and more convenient. Imagine sitting on your couch and effortlessly dictating a search query or a complex password without having to type it out manually.
Additional Enhancements and Improvements
In addition to these major features, tvOS 9.2 Beta 3 also includes several other enhancements aimed at improving the overall functionality and user experience of the Apple TV. For instance, the update introduces support for iCloud Photo Library, allowing users to access their entire photo collection directly from their Apple TV. This makes it easier to view and share photos and videos on the big screen.
The update also brings improvements to the user interface, making it more intuitive and user-friendly. For example, the app switcher has been redesigned to provide a more seamless multitasking experience. Users can now quickly switch between apps with a simple swipe, making it easier to navigate and manage multiple applications.
Moreover, tvOS 9.2 Beta 3 includes support for Bluetooth keyboards, which can be a game-changer for those who prefer typing over voice commands. This feature allows users to connect a Bluetooth keyboard to their Apple TV, making it easier to input text and navigate the interface. This can be particularly useful for tasks that require a lot of typing, such as composing emails or searching for specific content.
