We have been hearing rumors about a new Apple TV for some time and now it looks like we will finally get to see Apple’s new set top box.
Are are rumored to be announcing their new Apple TV at their iPhone event on the 9th of September.
The new Apple TV will apparently feature an update design, plus some new hardware, this will include Apple’s A8 processor which is being used to support a new improved interface and features.
One of the major changes to the Apple TV platform will be apps and games and Apple will release a new SDK for developers to create custom apps and games for the platform.
Apple will also introduce a new remote with their Apple TV, which will apparently feature a Touchpad for navigation, it will also come with a built in microphone and you will be able to control the device with Apple’s Siri.
According to TechCrunch the new remote for the Apple TV will also come with a motion sensor, this would mean that it could possibly be used as a gaming controller in a similar way to the WiiMote on the Nintendo Wii.
We are also expecting to find out more details about how the new Apple TV will be used for home automation, the device is expected to be used as a hub for Apple’s HomeKit.
One thing that we are not expecting to see at the event is Apple’s new TV service as the company is said to still be in discussions with the content providers.
