According to a recent report by The Korea Herald, the Apple iWatch will use stepped battery technology from LG, the battery is one of the manufacturing issues that Apple have apparently faced with the iWatch.
Stepped batteries are similar to normal lithium-ion batteries, although they have an extra ridge on the back that increases the capacity of the battery.
LG’s stepped batteries apparently give around 16 percent more capacity than their standard batteries, so this could be a good solution for the Apple iWatch.
