Apple has apparently made another acquisition, this time it is a UK startup Semetric who runs a music analytics tool called Musicmetric.
The Guardian has discovered that Semetric recently filed documents with Companies House in the UK, and they have change their registered address to the office of law firm Baker & McKenzie, this is also the registered address of Apple Europe LTD.
On top of that senior Apple attorney Gene Levoff was appointed as a director of Semetric in October, this was revealed in more documents which were filed in January.
The Guardian were told by Apple that ‘Apple buys smaller technology companies from time to time, and we generally do not discuss our purpose or plan,’, Semetric did not comment on the acquisition.
It is not clear as yet on exactly what Apple has planned for their new music analytics tools, although it could be something to do with iTunes and Beats Music.
