Last week we heard a rumor that Amazon were working on their own smartphone to rival Apple’s iPhone, and now according to a recent report by the WSJ, Amazon’s are currently testing out their new smartphone.
According to the WSJ the new smartphone is being tested with Amazon’s manufacturing partner, which we previously hear was Foxconn, and the device is expected to go into mass production either by the end of this year or early next year.
The device is reported to feature either a 4 or a 5 inch display, and it will probably run a modified version of Google’s Android OS, just like the Kindle Fire tablet.
It will be interesting to see what Amazon comes up with, we suspect the device will be priced competitively like the Kindle Fire tablet, as soon as we get some more information we will let you guys know.
