Amazon have today launched a new Amazon Kindle Book store online in Australia which is not not just limited to showing its US or UK catalog.
As well as now making their new Kindle Fire HD and Kindle Fire HDX tablets available locally from retailers such as Dick Smith and Big W stores, just in time for the holiday season.
Amazon explains : “Millions of Australians are already Kindle customers, and we’re delighted to make it even easier for them to enjoy the Kindle experience. The new Kindle Store is customised for Australian customers, with local best sellers and curated lists relevant to Australians, and many titles from local publishers and authors such as Tim Winton, Karly Lane and Kate Morton.”
Amazon explained in their statement today that over 700,000 books are priced at AU$3.99 or less and 1.4 million will be available for AU$9.99 or less. The 8.9-inch Kindle Fire HDX tablet is powered by a quad-core 2.2GHz processor supported by Adreno 330 graphics and 2GB of RAM.
Amazon will be launching their Kindle Fire HD for AU$189 while the 7-inch Kindle Fire HDX on November 26th 2013 will be priced at AU$329. The Amazon 8.9-inch Kindle will be priced at AU$479 and will be available starting from December 10th.
