Amazon has finally introduced the budget-friendly Fire Tablet in China where it carries an affordable RMB 499 ($78) price tag.
Along with the tablet, Amazon is offering hundreds of thousands of Kindle books as well as the English language learning feature Word Wise to improve your linguistic skills.
“We’ve already sold millions of Fire tablets since launch, and we’re excited to now make it available to customers in China,” said Neil Lindsay, Vice President, Amazon Devices. “With millions of readers already using Kindle e-readers in China, we’re excited to now offer another incredibly affordable option, particularly for customers learning to read English. With tools and features like Word Wise and Blue Shade, plus a large selection of Chinese and English content, we think readers will love the new Fire tablet.”
Furthermore, the retail giant has signed a deal with the local internet provider Baidu to provide users with search, apps, and online video experience on Amazon tablets in China.
For $78, you get a 7-inch display sporting a 1024 by 600 pixels resolution, a quad-core processor paired with 1GB of RAM, 2MP rear camera, VGA front-facing camera and ships with Fire OS 5 out of the box.
