After being made available to preorder earlier this month, the new Amazon Echo Spot is now available to purchase in a few European countries, including the UK, Germany, and Austria. Priced at £120 the Amazon Echo Spot is now available with next day delivery, directly from the official Amazon online store.
Amazon continues expanding the range of Echo personal assistants with the smaller Echo Spot, equipped with a small circular screen and web camera allowing you to make video calls to friends and family. Amazon has specifically designed the Echo Spot to fit almost anywhere in the your home and has equipped the spherical device with second-generation far-field voice recognition. Providing all the personal assistant features of the Echo range, enabling you to ask questions, receive news updates, play music, set alarms and control your smart home using voice commands.
Services supported through the Amazon Echo Spot include Spotify, Amazon music, Audible, Tune-In, Radioplayer and more. Amazon has also equipped the Echo Spot with Bluetooth connectivity enabling you to connect your smartphone, tablet, PC or media player wirelessly to the speaker of the Spot. Supported smart home services and hardware include the Philips Hue range, TP-Link, WeMo, SmartThings, Ring, Arlo, Nest and more. The Alexa App companion application is also available for iOS, Android and Fire devices, running iOS 9.0 or Android 5.0 or higher.
