Alpine has unveiled a new racing version of the A110 sports car that rolls the streets to fight the Porsche Cayman. Alpine has a racing version of the A110 that is designed for a one-make racing series called the Alpine Europa Cup. Sadly, this means the chances of Alpine and Porsche battling on a racetrack are nill.
The racing car has a turbo 1.8L engine that makes 266bhp. That is an 18 bhp bump over the road car. The A110 Cup is lighter at 1050 kg and should mean better performance as a result. Power goes to the rear wheels via a 6-speed sequential gearbox.
Paddle shifters mount behind the steering wheel and the car has a stripped interior with a full roll cage. The suspension is adjustable Ohlins units and it rolls on Michelin racing slicks. Brakes are 6-piston Brembo units. It sounds like a blast to drive.
