Air Display is a new app form Avatron Software that lets you use your iPad as a secondary display with your MacBook or Mac, to give you extra screen space.
Air display is pretty simple to setup, all you need to do is download the iPad application and then download some free software to your MacBook, once this is done the you can start to use your iPad as a secondary display.
To connect the two devices, all you need to do is open the Air display application on your iPad and then select the iPad from the desktop application on your MacBook.
The two devices will connect automatically and your MacBook’s desktop is then extended onto the iPad, you cursor can then move between the two devices and you can move program windows from your MacBook to your iPad.
The MacBook and the iPad connect via WiFi, we did think that it would probably be a bit laggy between the two displays, but it worked very well, and you can use the two displays together seamlessly.
One thing we would like to see in the future would be the ability to connect the two displays using the iPad sync cable, this would come in handy when there are no WiFi connections around and you still want to use both displays.
Overall if you are the sort of person who likes extra desktop space, then we would recommend you check out the Air Display iPad app, it is available from iTunes for $9.99, one thing we did like about the app was the ability to use the Air Display in both portrait or landscape modes.
