3D Robotics has this week unveiled a new octocopter it has created in the form the 3D Robotics X8+ that is equipped with a flight time of 15 minutes and a payload capacity of over 800 grams.
The 3D Robotics X8+ drone has been specifically designed for aerial video and allows the controller to preview live on-screen flight data and is equipped with autopilot hardware Pixhawk v2.4.5 and autopilot firmware ArduCopter 3.2.
Other features of the 3D Robotics X8+ drone include 3DR u-blox GPS with Compass, Ground Station Radio: 3DR Radio v2, SunnySky V2216-12 KV800 II motors and the ability to stream live video from a GoPro HERO onto a wireless monitor attached to the controller of the X8+. 3D Robotics explains a little more about their latest creation.
