BMW has pulled the wraps off the all-new 2020 BMW M340i and M340i xDrive sedans. The world debut of both versions of the M340i will happen this month at the LA Auto Show. Both will hit dealers next summer.
The cars both use an updated six-cylinder inline gas engine that makes 382hp and 369 lb-ft of torque. The twin-scroll single turbo used has lighter internals to help boost build faster than on the outgoing models. BMW says the car will reach 60mph from a standstill in 4.2 seconds.
BMW gives the car an M Sport rear differential, 8-speed Steptronic transmission with launch mode, and sport brakes and chassis tuning. The car also gets Auto Start Stop function with costing function to save fuel. The car also has a dual pipe exhaust with an active flap that gives a unique sound in Sport or Sport+ mode.
