Apple Launches Text Message Order Updates for Apple Store

When I order stuff from an online store, I want to know exactly where it is and when it will be to my house. Typically, I end up checking the mill constantly in hopes that an order update is available. Apple has announced a new system for notifying people of their order status that will let you get out of the house without having to check your e-mail.

Apple has launched new order status updates via text messages. The feature was added this week after about six hours of downtime for the Apple Store. The notifications will be sent out to people who click the check box during checkout.

Text messages will be sent between 8 AM and 9 PM in the user’s time zone. If you decide you no longer want to receive the text messages, all you have to do is reply to one of them with the word stop.
