Apple Hires Carbon Fiber Expert
Before the new iPad 2 was announced there were a number of rumors that it would feature a carbon fiber design on the back of the case, in the end when it was announced the carbon fiber was nowhere in sight.
Now it seems that Apple will be using carbon fiber in some of their future products, as they have just hired Kevin Kenney, as their Senior Composites Engineer, and his previous job was the CEO of Kestrel Bikes, who make carbon fiber bikes.

Obviously Apple are looking to use Kevin Kenney’s expertise with carbon fiber to design new casings and housing for future devices, and he has even contributed previously to some Apple Patents for new housing before he joined the company.
