11 Arrested in Connection with Stolen Samsung AMOLED Tech

Executives at Samsung can’t be happy today after 11 suspects were arrested in connection with the sale of stolen AMOLED display technology to a rival. What rival allegedly purchased the stolen Samsung technology hasn’t been named. One worker is accused of accepting a payment of $170,000 from a rival firm to leak details.

The technology in question is apparently believed by many analysts to be what sets Samsung’s AMOLED business apart from the masses. So far, there’s no indication on charges having been filed, but the source does say 11 former and current Samsung workers were arrested.

Samsung is the biggest manufacture of AMOLED displays around. It’s not clear how Samsung authorities found out about the stolen information being sold.
