US residents patiently waiting for the arrival of the new Zoom iQ5 professional iOS stereo microphone on their shores. Will be pleased to learn that from today the new Zoom iQ5 iOS microphone is now available to purchase in the US for around $100.
The Zoom iQ5 has been specifically designed for use with Apple’s latest iPhone, iPad and iPod touch devices and is equipped with a Lightning connection. The Zoom iQ5 is powered by the connected device and its stereo width can be set to either 90 or 120 degrees.
The new Zoom iQ5 OS microphone which launched 3 months ago in Japan, can also record incoming mid and side signals as RAW data via the free companion Handy Recorder app. As well as in Linear PCM WAV format at 44.1 kHz/16-bit audio resolution, or compressed AAC format.
Zoom also says that the Zoom iQ5 microphone can be used with just about any native iOS app that supports audio input from an external microphone and up to 40 dB of input gain is available via the wheel at the side.
