We just got an email from the guys over at Sony Ericsson to let us know that they have started to roll out the Android 2.3.3 update to the Xperia Play and the Xperia Arc, and they have said it will be rolled out to selected markets first, we presume they mean the UK and Europe and other markets later this week (tomorrow) and the start of next week.
The Android 2.3.3 update for the Xperia Play and Xperia Arc brings a range of new features, which include improved battery performance, general software stability, improved WiFi, HD Video recording performance (Xperia™ arc) and better Touch responsiveness.
As well as improvements and bug fixes, Android 2.3.3 also gets Facebook integration, which Sony Ericsson call ‘Facebook Inside Xperia’, have a look at the video below which shows it in action. Take a look and our article on Android vs iPhone to see which smartphone and mobile platform is best for you.
We are interesting to find out which countries are receiving the update first, if you could leave a comment, including your country and which device you have received the update for it will give us all a better idea of when we can expect the updates to be rolled out.
