Later on today Samsung will be unveiling its new smartphones, wearable and tablet hardware during its Samsung Unpacked event, but this doesn’t stop other manufacturers stealing the companies thunder ahead of the event.
One such company is Chinese mobile manufacturer Xiaomi who has today launched their new Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 and Redmi Note 2 Prime smartphones that are priced at a low $125 and $155 respectively.
Fortunately for Samsung the Xiaomi hardware is not yet available within the US although Xiaomi’s International VP Hugo Barra has indicated that the company it’s seriously looking at entering the US in the next year or so.
The new Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 smartphone is equipped with a 2.0GHz MediaTek (MTK) Helio X10 processor supported by 2GB RAM with 16GB storage. The faster Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 Prime is equipped with a 2.2GHz processor also supported by 2GB RAM with 32GB storage. Both smartphones are fitted with 5.5-inch full-HD display, together with 5 megapixel front facing cameras for video calling, and 13 megapixel rear facing cameras for video and photographs.
The new Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 And Redmi Note 2 Prime are available in a range of pastel colours and will be available in China from August 16th 2015 onwards.
