Engineer Berth-Olof Bergman based in Stockholm, Sweden has created a new X86 prototyping platform designed for students to learn more about embedded systems and prototype their ideas quickly using a high performance BIOS, OS and development tools. Watch the video below to learn more about the X86 platform for learning and prototyping which is now available via Kickstarter priced from £89. The project makes the development teams software available in a 86Duino platform for fun, education, prototyping or evaluation. “Our mission is to provide the most productive platform for building high performance, cost effective applications for X86 devices.”
“We have developed our own BIOS, OS and development tools. Together they form a platform for product development. The idea is to provide a more productive way of developing products. We have put a great effort in making our development tools productive and easy to use. All the tools are open source and the build system has been modified to simplify customisation if required. With our tools engineers are in control and nothing is hidden in mysterious abstraction layers. We understand the needs for engineers to be in full control for optimum productivity. The hardest part of any project is finding the information required for a project and fully understanding how to apply it. The overly bloated, complex and abstracted software used these days makes it hard to finish projects in time. Our technology has been built from the ground up to enforce productivity and simplify engineering in a way that has never been done before.”
