VUDU has today announced it will be starting a new movie streaming service from their website allowing users to watch content directly from their browsers without the need for a VUDU set-top box, DVD player or VUDU enabled device.
To start using the new VUDU streaming service simply visit vudu.com, browse the selection available and purchase to start watching immediately. The new service now brings VUDU in line with its closest competitors Netflix and Amazon, who both already have web browser streaming service.
Edward Lichty, VUDU’s GM explains :
“Customers will be able to enjoy movies instantly and easily at VUDU.com with no additional hardware or software download required,”
“This launch is part of our overall commitment to provide the VUDU service through as many points of access as possible, offering our customer the latest movies at the highest available streaming quality wherever they choose to watch.”
The streaming video service will feature the same titles found on the VUDU digital storefront but unfortunately the higher quality video and 3D versions of films, will not be available through web browsers.
