It looks like Verizon Wireless has some plans to increase the number of Windows Phone smartphones available on their network in the US, as the company has said that it intends to push Windows Phone devices in the same way it did with Google’s Android devices.
According to Fran Shammo, who is Verizon’s CFO, Verizon are supportive of Microsoft’s Windows Phone platform, and they have plans to introduce new Windows Phone devices on Verizon.
“We are fully supportive of that with Microsoft. … We helped create the Android platform from the beginning and it is an incredible platform today, and we are looking to do the same thing with a third ecosystem.”
This is good news for Windows Phone fans, there are no details as yet on which new Windows Phone devices Verizon intends to add to its network, as soon as we get some more information we will let you guys know.
