Earlier this year, HTC unveiled its latest flagship device, the HTC One M9. If you happen to be a proud owner of the HTC One M9, there’s some good news for you.
The company’s VP of Product Management Mo Versi revealed on Twitter that HTC One M9 on Verizon should start getting Android 5.1 Lollipop update starting tomorrow.
Mo Versi revealed that they have received technical approval for Android 5.1 Lollipop update and should start rolling it out tomorrow.
“HTC One (M9) Verizon customers! Received approval for L5.1 which will OTA out tomorrow. Includes Stagefright fix,Band 3 & 7 enabled -roaming,” said Versi on Twitter.
As far as the changes are concerned, the new Android 5.1 brings a number of improvements and bug fixes on board, including the patch for the Stagefright bug as well as enabled support for Band 3 and 7, which can come in quite handy especially when you’re travelling internationally.
The update roll out should commence tomorrow, but don’t expect it reach all users. The roll out process is gradual and the OTA takes a few days to reach all devices. Alternatively, you can also check for the update manually by going to Settings > About phone > System updates.
