Developer Jaco Burge based in the UK has created a customisable mini shortcut keyboard aptly named the TouchPad, which can be programmed using either the built-in programming mode or the Arduino IDE depending on your use. Watch the demonstration video below to learn more about the customisable USB keyboard which has been designed for storing and producing a wide variety of different keyboard shortcuts in a clean and friendly way.
The 36 capacitive keys on the TouchPad can each be assigned a series of five key presses using the built-in programming mode. Alternatively, the Arduino support can combine keyboard, mouse, MIDI or serial functions. TouchPad has five command sets, enabling a total of 180 customisable functions that you can tailor to five different applications and come supplied with transparent overlays that can be used to remind yourself which keys do what and quickly swapped to match your required command set.
The lightweight and slim design of TouchPad allows the small customisable USB keyboard to be easily transported anywhere and requires no software installation or specific drivers to function and is compatible with all major operating systems Windows, Mac and Linux. TouchPad has this week been launched by Kickstarter and is now available to back with pledges starting from £43 for early bird backers. Worldwide shipping is expected to take place during June 2018 if the project successfully raises its required £15,000 pledged all.
TouchPad allows the easy creation of keyboard shortcuts using a text editor-based programmer. For more information, full specifications and a list of all available pledges jump over to the official TouchPad Kickstarter campaign page by following the link below.
