UPS has used big brown trucks for delivering all sorts of items for years now. The company has announced that it will be working with a UK-based technology firm called ARRIVAL. The two firms will be rolling out 35 electric delivery vehicles that will be used in a trial program in London and Paris.
The EVs will produce zero emissions and will be lightweight composite trucks that can go for more than 150 miles per charge. That is a much higher range than other EVs in service now. UPS says that the vehicles will also have Advanced Driver Assistance Systems to improve safety and reduce fatigue for drivers.
UPS says that the electric rides will also have a highly advanced vehicle display to provide the driver with an intelligent and connected vehicle. ARRIVAL will be the first commercial vehicle maker in Europe to provide UPS with purpose-built delivery vehicles.
