Solar Lab based in Toronto Canada has created a new unique automatic wristwatch called the Gnomon, which only has a single hand and has been inspired by the iconic sundial.
Watch the demonstration video below to learn more about the design and construction of the Gnomon watch which has taken to Kickstarter this month to raise the required funds it needs to go into production.
The designers and developers of Gnomon explain more about its unique construction and single-handed watch face.
The Gnomon timepiece features an authentic outlook recreating Roman classic sundials and a single handed time telling system, referring to an actual gnomon which is reflected in the name of the watch. These timepiece and campaign both are the test of our skill and ambitions through which we want to develop a strong brand with individuality in our signature watches. Below you can learn even more interesting things about Gnomon and view spectacular photos of the first prototypes. Hope you’ll like it!
The idea to create Gnomon was born from a passion of researching craftsmanship of watchmaking and the history of timepieces itself. Our very small but talented team was drown together by this goal and we started to work on the project in 2016.
Gnomon is now available to back via Kickstarter with early bird pledges starting from just CA$295 and delivery expected to take place during March 2018. For full specifications and more information jump over to the official Kickstarter campaign page via the link below.
