A new ultra lightweight combination tent and hammock has been launched via Kickstarter this month in the form of the Mantis hammock tent designed by the team at Kammok. The lightweight all-in-one hammock tent has been designed to provide more comfort for backcountry camping offering the “best night’s sleep, off the ground” say its creators.
The Mantis is now available to back via Kickstarter with early bird pledges available from $185 or roughly £143 with worldwide shipping expected to take place during April 2019. Watch the demonstration video below to learn more about the four season combination tent and hammock designed to protect you from the elements, whatever they may be.
“We designed the Mantis to make backpacking simpler, so you can pack less and cover more ground. Smaller than your sleeping bag and lighter than a 1-person tent, the Mantis offer a lightweight respite for hikers on trail. Sleep off the ground in a silky soft hammock enclosed in our Stargazer™ mesh canopy. The Mantis all-in-one hammock tent features built-in pockets and a structural ridge line to keep what you need close at hand. Cozy up, campers. An all-in-one hammock tent to protect you from the elements, no matter what Mother Nature throws your way. The Mantis’ customisable features – insect net, rainfly, and winter barrier – provide shelter and allow you to shed weight when you need to.”
