The UK Government has laucnhed a competition to find possible candidates with the required skills in analytical forensics and programming. The online web based games and puzzles are hoped to encourage the solvers to then take a career in computer security and help keep the UK’s web space secure.
Ther first round of the competition covers network defence, forensics and identifying security weaknesses in web site code. Winners of the first round will then advance on to more complex face-to-face challenges, such as the technical assault courses many computer professionals complete.
If your interested the competition starts on 27 April and is aimed at those who are aged 16 or over and is backed by a number of professional organisations, such as the Cabinet Office, the Metropolitan Police, Qinetiq, Royal Holloway college and the Institute of Information Security Professionals.
