A new storage device has started its journey over on the Kickstarter crowd funding website, which has been designed to offer a slightly different solution to the come cloud storage offered by a variety of companies.
The Transporter is being marketed as “a new way to share, access and protect files“, and offers a one time fee enabling you to then share files of any size or type with anyone else who also owns a Transporter storage device. Watch the video after the jump to see it in action and learn more.
Once you have created a free account and have bought your Transport storage device, any files that are added to your Transporter folders will automatically appear on the Transporters of others you have invited.
“Getting copies of files offsite continues to be a challenge for consumers and small businesses alike. Using external drives requires you to copy to the drive and then physically take it offsite. Online and cloud services can easily take months to copy or restore files. Using Transporters, a full copy of shared files is kept on each Transporter and changes to any files are automatically reflected on other Transporters.”
The Transporter project is currently over on the Kickstarter website looking to raise enough pledges to make the jump from concept to production. So if you think Transporter is something you could benefit from, visit the Kickstarter website now to make a pledge and help Transporter become a reality.
