Toshiba has rolled out its latest ultrabooks running Intel Haswell processors. That Intel technology helps the machines achieve a very impressive runtime per charge. According to Toshiba, the Kira V634 ultrabook will go for 22 hours on a single charge. Considering this is a very thin and lightweight ultrabook, that runtime is even more impressive.
The machine has a 13-inch screen with a resolution of 1366 x 768. To help conserve power and weight, it doesn’t offer touchscreen capability. The machine weighs 1.12 kg. However, if you do want a machine with touchscreen capability you can opt for the Kira V834 it features touch capability and a resolution of 2560 x 1440.
The trade-off to get a high-resolution screen and touch capability is the battery life is only 14 hours. 14 hours of run time per charge is still an impressive feat. The machines are both set to launch in Japan on November 20. The V834 will start at $1530. The V634 will start at $1446. There’s no indication at this time of if these machines will be available outside of Japan.
