Can’t stress that enough—as in just 5 inches ‘tall’. It can fit in your pocket and be clipped somewhere, like the edge of a book. Of course, the Tiny Tim begs the question why bother with a reading light when most ereaders have backlit screens? Keep in mind what makes Tiny Tim attractive is the novelty. That, and it reminds people of Luxo, the Pixar mascot.
Tiny Tim isn’t out yet and it’s expected to retail by next week for $13.
As a gadget the Tiny Tim’s features beyond a small amount of illumination are nonexistent. It’s a midget lamp for people who read in dark places or want to enjoy a paperback in the outdoors (cos reading by the campfire isn’t always all that). The bulb it uses is an equally minuscule LED and the batteries are thoughtfully replaceable. The on/off switch is somewhere.
The Tiny Tim has a small clip at its base to hold it steady on the edge of a page or book cover.
Oh yes, books. This is for you, the reader: What was the last print book you finished reading?
