If you’re waiting for Google to release the next Nexus device, there’s a pretty bad news for your. According to the famed Twitter leaker @evleaks, Google is going to drop the Nexus line up, which means there will be no Nexus 6 this year.
This is not new, as we’ve seen several rumors in the past few months hinting that Google will discontinue the light, and may focus on the Google Play Edition devices.
It seems Google will abandon the Nexus line up in favor of the Android Silver program which was brought to light last month. As per the report, Google Android Silver program will revolve around high-end Android devices, which will be manufactured by several OEMS. The good part, according to the leaked report, was that it will be free of bloatware, and will get timely updates.
In addition, Google is rumored to spent a handsome amount of money on marketing of the devices via in-store promotions, advertisements and more. It’s going to be interesting to see what Google has planned for the Android silver program, until then, good bye Nexus.
