Drink Monitor

If you are concerned about the amount of water you are consuming on a daily basis and worried that you might not be taking on enough water for optimal hydration throughout the day and would like a drink monitor app to help you keep track.

A new device called The Hug might be worth more investigation, which has today launched over on the Kickstarter crowd funding website looking to raise $34,000 to take the concept into production. The device has been designed by Caktus and can be seen in action in the video after the jump.

Simply put The Hug sensor and companion drink monitor app, track your water intake and have been designed to coach you towards more optimal hydration throughout the day, monitoring closely your water intake. Its creators explain a little more about their inspiration behind the new sensor and drink monitor app.

“Exercise, nutrition and sleep are naturally important factors in a healthy lifestyle. Hydration is part of this equation and directly impacts all the other categories. In theory, hydration is easy, yet a big portion of people (i.e. 43% of Americans) simply don’t drink enough water every day.

The Hug is a convenient solution that helps you stay properly hydrated. It consists of a sensor band and a companion iOS app. Just slip The Hug sensor around pretty much any water bottle and connect it to an iOS device.

Using motion data and algorithms, The Hug sensor tracks the amount of water you drink, giving you automatic reminders via the sensor band and the iOS app to make sure you maintain optimal hydration. Think of it as your personal hydration coach, aiming to change your hydration habits!”

So if you think The Hug is something your daily routine could benefit from, visit the Kickstarter website now to make a pledge and help Hug become a reality.
