We have seen Des from T-Mobile unboxing a number of handsets over the years, although this may be his first underwater video where he is surrounded by sharks.
As we can see from the video, the Galaxy S8 works fine underwater. The handset is now available to pre-order in the US from T-Mobile and also the other carriers.
Samsung Galaxy S8 Features and Specifications
The Samsung Galaxy S8 is packed with cutting-edge features and specifications that make it one of the most anticipated smartphones of the year. It boasts a stunning 5.8-inch Quad HD+ Super AMOLED display, which offers vibrant colors and deep blacks, making it perfect for media consumption and gaming. The device is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor in the US, while other regions get Samsung’s own Exynos 8895 chipset. Both variants promise top-notch performance and efficiency.
The Galaxy S8 comes with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, which can be expanded up to 256GB via a microSD card. This ensures that users have ample space for all their apps, photos, and videos. The device also features a 12-megapixel rear camera with Dual Pixel technology, which provides fast autofocus and excellent low-light performance. The front-facing camera is an 8-megapixel shooter with autofocus, perfect for selfies and video calls.
Innovative Design and User Experience
One of the standout features of the Galaxy S8 is its design. Samsung has opted for an “Infinity Display,” which curves around the edges of the device, providing an immersive viewing experience. The bezels are minimal, giving the phone a sleek and modern look. The fingerprint sensor has been moved to the back of the device, next to the camera, which has been a point of contention for some users. However, Samsung has also included an iris scanner and facial recognition for added security options.
The Galaxy S8 runs on Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box, with Samsung’s custom TouchWiz interface on top. The software experience is smooth and intuitive, with a host of features and customization options. Samsung has also introduced Bixby, its own virtual assistant, which aims to compete with the likes of Google Assistant and Apple’s Siri. Bixby can be accessed via a dedicated button on the side of the device and offers voice, text, and camera-based assistance.
The Galaxy S8 is also IP68 certified, meaning it is dust and water-resistant. This makes it a durable option for those who lead an active lifestyle or are prone to accidents. The device supports fast charging and wireless charging, ensuring that users can quickly top up their battery when needed.
In terms of connectivity, the Galaxy S8 supports Gigabit LTE, which promises faster download and upload speeds. It also features Bluetooth 5.0, which offers improved range and data transfer speeds compared to previous versions. The device retains the 3.5mm headphone jack, which is a relief for many users who still prefer wired headphones.
Overall, the Samsung Galaxy S8 is a feature-packed smartphone that offers a premium design, powerful performance, and a host of innovative features. It is now available for pre-order in the US from T-Mobile and other carriers, and it is expected to be a popular choice among consumers.
