Yesterday we heard that the launch of the Sony Xperia Z2 had been delayed in the UK until the 1st of May, the news came from a UK mobile retailer Unlocked Mobiles.
Sony has now confirmed that there will be a delay on the new Sony Xperia Z2, although they have said that they expect to deliver the handset on time to customers who pre-ordered the device through their key partners.
“Xperia Z2 will be available in the UK during April and we are expecting to deliver to all consumers who have placed a pre-order through our key partners. We are working tirelessly to maximise stock levels in April but currently we do not expect to meet the high demand across all our sales channels. Please stay tuned for further information and confirmed retail availability.”
Sony mentions ‘key partners’ in their statement, and we presume these would be the mobile carriers and the large mobile retailers.
If you have pre-ordered a new Sony Xperia Z2 in the UK, then we would suggest that you check with the retailer or carrier you ordered the device from, as availability will probably vary between each retailer.
