Sony has announced that the Sony Xperia Tablet S Android Jelly Bean update will be released at the end of April and the beginning of May. This update is specifically for the Xperia Tablet S and not the original Sony Tablet S.
We will be releasing Jelly Bean for the Xperia Tablet end of April 2013 / early May 2013 for the Xperia Tablet. This update will resolve a memory management issue that may cause the Xperia Tablet to shut down from time to time.
Currently we do not have a roadmap to release the Jelly Bean update for the 1st Generation Tablet (Sony Tablet S).
As you can see from the statement, Sony has not given any details on when the update will be released for the original Sony Tablet S. As soon as we get some more information, we will let you guys know.
What to Expect from the Jelly Bean Update
The Android Jelly Bean update is highly anticipated by Xperia Tablet S users. This update promises to bring a host of new features and improvements to the device. One of the most significant enhancements is the resolution of a memory management issue that has been causing the Xperia Tablet S to shut down unexpectedly. This fix alone is expected to greatly improve the user experience by providing more stability and reliability.
In addition to the memory management fix, the Jelly Bean update will introduce several new features that are part of the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system. Users can look forward to a smoother and more responsive interface, thanks to Project Butter, which aims to make the UI more fluid. Google Now, an intelligent personal assistant, will also be included, offering users timely information and recommendations based on their habits and preferences.
Why the Delay for the Original Sony Tablet S?
While the Xperia Tablet S is set to receive the Jelly Bean update soon, the original Sony Tablet S users are left wondering when, or if, they will receive the same treatment. Sony’s statement clearly indicates that there is currently no roadmap for releasing the Jelly Bean update for the first-generation Sony Tablet S. This has led to some disappointment among early adopters of Sony’s tablet technology.
There could be several reasons for this delay. One possibility is that the hardware of the original Sony Tablet S may not be fully compatible with the new features and improvements brought by Jelly Bean. Another reason could be that Sony is prioritizing its newer devices to ensure they remain competitive in the market. Regardless of the reason, it is clear that Sony has not forgotten about its original tablet users, and they may still receive updates in the future.
Looking Forward
For Xperia Tablet S users, the upcoming Jelly Bean update is a welcome development that promises to enhance their device’s performance and usability. The new features and improvements will undoubtedly make the tablet more enjoyable to use and extend its lifespan in a rapidly evolving tech landscape.
For those with the original Sony Tablet S, the wait continues. However, it is important to stay hopeful and keep an eye out for any announcements from Sony regarding future updates. In the meantime, users can still enjoy their devices and make the most of the features currently available to them.
As always, we will keep you updated with the latest information as soon as we receive it. Stay tuned for more news on the Jelly Bean update and other exciting developments from Sony.
